Inspired by the shades of plum and various greens of grass in late summer, this scarf has several artistic elements including the use of overshot, overshot inlay, and random color striping. Each of these elements are slow, thoughtful aspects of design that happens intuitively at the loom. Rather than a rhythmic throwing of the shuttle, these elements require inlaying design at specific points in the warp, one thread at a time.
Made with light weight cotton, linen, and a tiny stripe of alpaca, this scarf can be machine washed and is very soft next to the skin. It is generously sized as a blanket scarf or can be worn as a shawl. Fringe is generous as well as hand twisted and knotted.
Appx. 21 × 77 inches + fringe
