Blooming Leaf on a Louet David floor loom.

Handwoven at Hickory Branch Weaving Studio

Thank you for visiting. I weave with a variety of structures, styles, and natural fibers to create functional home textiles, luxurious wearables, and decorative wall hangings. My commitment to sustainability is reflected in my choice of natural fibers, ensuring that my craft is as environmentally conscious as possible. Durable staples such as kitchen and hand towels are designed for repeated use over decades, eventually decomposing completely at the end of their life. Other pieces, crafted with longevity and beauty in mind, are intended to be cherished as heirlooms and wearable art.

Many of my designs draw inspiration from traditional coverlets and table linens, in which color was often used sparingly due to the scarcity and cost of dyed yarns. Today, with an endless variety of color at my disposal, I enjoy experimenting with it in non-traditional ways—such as introducing bold colors into the ground cloth of an overshot coverlet or creating gradients for towels and scarves. My color inspiration is found in the woods, prairies, skylines, that surround me and ancient Ozark mountains and springs that I love to visit.

I began weaving about ten years ago, thanks to the encouragement and guidance of my mother-in-law, Nancy. Her support, along with the generosity of the online weaving community, has given me the confidence to experiment and refine my craft. Weaving, for me, has become a therapeutic process. Each step, from preparing the warp to the rhythmic back-and-forth of the shuttle, brings predictability, comfort, and calm to my day.  I find joy in considering how every single thread passes through my hands many times before it becomes the cloth that you take home with you.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram where you can watch my process and see items in the making before they enter the shop.

Thanks for following along,
